Based in Vernon, California, F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. is one of the largest family-owned coffee companies in America and the nation's largest privately held minority roaster. The family’s unmatched coffee experience, as coffee growers and roasters, dates back 150 years to the family’s humble beginnings in the rich coffee-bearing soil of Cuba. It was there that patriarch Francisco Gaviña, known as Don Francisco (“Don” is a Spanish-language honorific used to show respect), was born and learned the art of coffee cultivation from his father. After immigrating to the United States with his wife and children, he further cemented the family’s coffee legacy in the heart of Los Angeles, establishing F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. in 1967 and later launching their now flagship brand, Don Francisco’s Coffee, in 1984.

Today, Don Francisco’s Coffee is a top 15 national retail brand. The product line includes Don Francisco’s Coffee’s ground coffees available in cans and in a variety of flavors, as well as the super premium Don Francisco’s Coffee Family Reserve line, which offers rich and flavorful whole bean and ground coffees in a wide array of flavors and roasts made for a variety of brewing methods, including pods, espresso capsules, and cold brew.

The cornerstone of all Don Francisco's Coffees is the unmatched high standard of quality and consistency passed down over four generations, making it one of the highest quality, family-crafted coffees in the market today. Don Francisco’s Coffee is made with 100% premium Arabica coffee sourced from the world’s finest growing regions, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Hawaii, and East Africa, among others. In addition, at least one family member is always involved in the roasting process of all of Don Francisco's Coffees.

Don Francisco’s Coffee is made at F. Gaviña & Sons’ 240,000 sq. ft., state-of-the art, zero-waste-to-landfill roasting plant. There they produce more than 40 million pounds of coffee each year from the finest selection of 100% premium Arabica beans, which include Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade USA and USDA certified Organic certified varieties. The company is also one of the only coffee companies roasting and packing its own Nespresso®-compatible capsules in the U.S.

The company is still owned and run by Don Francisco’s four children Francisco, Pedro, José, and Leonor, with several fourth generation family members already managing key areas of the company alongside them.

In 2017, Don Francisco’s Coffee opened its first ever flagship cafe in Downtown Los Angeles - Don Francisco's Coffee Casa Cubana.
