Cappuccino French toast Recipe
What makes scrumptious, pillowy French toast taste even better? The dark chocolate notes of Don Francisco Clasico Espresso.
WHAT YOU NEED
8 thick slices of brioche bread
4 eggs
1 cup Don Francisco Clasico Espresso
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2oz milk or dark chocolate squares
Butter for frying
Whipped cream for serving
Shaved chocolate for serving
Makes 4 servings
HOW TO MAKE
Brew 1 cup of Don Francisco Clasico Espresso and add 2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix until sugar is dissolved and set aside to cool. Into a 9x13-inch shallow dish, whisk together the sweetened Don Francisco Clasico Espresso and the eggs until well combined.
Add sliced bread into the egg wash; divide the chocolate amongst the bread pieces and top each piece with the remaining bread to make 4 “sandwiches.” Let soak for 5 minutes on one side, then flip and soak for another 5 minutes.
Preheat a large nonstick pan, skillet, or griddle with a light butter coating. When hot, cook the French toast in batches until browned on both sides, cooked through, and the chocolate has melted in the center.
Serve with whipped cream and topped with chocolate shavings.
